Gay Acceptance

I am currently in graduate school studying mental health.  I've recently studied and written papers on how hard it is being a sexual minority.  Gay Black men and women seem to have a double minority status being that they are one Black and two gay.  I really feel for the Black gay youth, especially the ones that cannot fully come to terms with their sexuality and have to endure bullying in their schools.  Will mainstream society/America ever accept the Black LGBT community?  I'm raising awareness through my book.  What are you doing to raise awareness?  Mahatma Gandhi stated, "You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result."  What are your thoughts?
